Instructional Systems Designer
Samantha (Sam) is an Instructional Systems Designer with experience supporting course revision, course development, and eLearning. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design from Rollins College, and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from University College Cork, National University of Ireland. She has a broad background in educational technology, professional development, and learner motivation and engagement.
Before arriving at E-PAGA, Sam served as a Teaching and Learning Specialist for adult educators in K-12 academia, focusing on building Pennsylvania’s first state-wide Computer Science curriculum for educators across all grade bands and subject areas, intending to make Computer Science education equitable and accessible to all learners. She has experience working with the Department of Education as a Federal grant coordinator for Global Writes, a non-profit organization promoting literacy, communication, and collaboration for K-12 teachers and students through the integration of the arts, community building, and technology resources. With Global Writes, Sam has developed a passion for developing innovative ways to incorporate technology and game-based learning approaches to transform education, which extends beyond classrooms, and into communities.
Outside of work, Sam enjoys being in nature and working toward health and wellness goals. She can be found hiking in the woods, road cycling, or strength training in her local gym. She intends to join her passions for education and health to obtain her certification in personal training, and help others map out and achieve their wellness goals.
Fun fact: Sam has a cat named Neptune whom she has trained to walk on a leash.
