Smithsonian’s Training Consultation and Development Contract
E-PAGA is excited to announce its recent contract award from the Smithsonian Institution (SI) to create three new courses that will strengthen the SI’s training program for procurement delegates in more than 32 museums, research centers, and support offices. This initiative will provide Smithsonian staff with the knowledge and tools they need to purchase goods and services through the SI’s simplified acquisitions process.
To begin the project, E-PAGA facilitated a project kickoff with Smithsonian stakeholders and then developed a detailed project plan outlining milestones, deliverables, and quality assurance measures. Our team is currently analyzing the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for different levels of procurement duties while also performing a thorough, detailed review of the existing curriculum and related resources.
Using these findings, E-PAGA will prepare to conduct a series of course design meetings with the SI’s subject matter experts and project team, which will inform our design and development of three engaging, scenario-based, instructor-led classroom courses that allow for hybrid delivery. These Level 1, 2, and 3 simplified acquisitions courses will build on core concepts of federal acquisition with examples specifically tailored to Smithsonian operations. Each course will feature interactive elements, updated course templates, and fully accessible materials, ensuring training is both impactful and compliant.
Throughout this project, E-PAGA will maintain close collaboration with SI’s Office of Contracting & Personal Property Management to deliver high-quality instructional content that enhances the SI’s procurement capabilities, thereby supporting the SI’s mission of “the increase and diffusion of knowledge” and its vision “to provide Americans and the world with the tools and information they need to forge Our Shared Future.”
This award highlights E-PAGA’s continued commitment to advancing federal training programs through innovative instructional design and strong partner collaboration.
Stay tuned for more updates as we help the Smithsonian build the next generation of procurement training!
